PĂDUREA DOMNEASCĂ

The State Scientific Reserve Natural Forest was founded in 1993 in order to protect this old meadow forests, where the rulers of the Moldavian State came to hunt themselves. This area belonged to the princely court in Iasi. The pots confirm that during the time of Alexander the Good here was created the first natural reserve in the Romanian space and was called the Tuzora reservation.

The natural reserve has an area of 6032 ha and is recognized by the experts as the oldest forest in Moldova and one of the oldest meadow forests in Europe.
